Hello, my name is Kristina Canary, and I am a part of the Life Science Academy (LSA). Not only is Life Science an amazing opportunity for young people to get involved in medicine, but it is also a way of discovering what you'd like to become in the future.
As a junior, my future is my main priority and is brought up increasingly as the year continues. I plan on going into a career in science and medicine, and because Life Science Academy has been such a big part of my high school experience, I understand a lot more of the real world than most of my peers. I have fundamental medical knowledge, I've learned about machinery and interventions used in hospitals, and viewed careers within each unit throughout these last three years. It's helped me develop a real-world view and has better prepared me for the years ahead in college and in the bio-medical field. In the past, what I looked forward to most during LSA was all the interesting experiments and labs we conducted during class, but now I can't wait till next year. I'll be a senior, and it'll also be the most memorable year of them all. I've grown a lot in medical and scientific knowledge, and to be able to graduate with the mindset that I'm that much ahead will help me with college and my future career. I have learned a lot from Life Science; it was a tremendous experience, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. |
